FBC Salado Worship Ministry
The Mission:
The mission of the worship teams of First Baptist Church is to lead the congregation in worship. The Worship Teams will use teaching, scripture, prayer, singing and other expression of praise, adoration, worship and repentance to lead the congregation to worship in spirit and truth.
Our Responsibility in Worship:
The Worship Team’s responsibility is to engage in personal worship and to draw, lead, and walk beside the congregation to the throne of grace.
The Result of True Worship:
Worship shall cause us to see our Holy God more clearly, to experience our relationship with God more deeply, and to understand the cross more dearly. It will cause us to understand God’s Word more completely, to equip us to walk in God’s way more intently, to pray more fervently, and to love our neighbors more intentionally.
Worship shall be:
God-centered: The focus of worship will be on our Holy God and the cross.
Scriptural: The Word of God shall be the main source for instruction for worship. It shall be the catalyst that starts, focuses and defines all worship.
Engaging: The congregation will be actively involved and participating in all elements of worship. Worship should engage our emotions, our minds and our bodies.
Authentic: Worship is not a time for show. It will not be measured by the quality of the music and oratory. It will not be measured by missed notes, stumbled phrases, presentations and sermon points. Worship will be measured by the hearts crying out to God.
Relevant: Worship styles and forms will reflect the current culture, but not be compromised by it. If God is the same yesterday, today and forever we shall worship Him in a like manner. At the same time, we will celebrate our history and culture with respect to Baptist distinctive and hymnody.
Spirit-Driven: The Holy Spirit is the worship leader. The worship services will be Spirit-driven, not agenda led. God always has the right to intervene and interrupt our plans.
Creative: We will use whatever biblical means necessary to help people engage in worship. Technology and the arts are God-given gifts that will be employed to worship Him.
Relational: We will hold one another up in prayer and praise. We can’t love God if we don’t love our brothers and sisters in the Lord.
Transforming: Any encounter with God will change us. Worship is the heartbeat of evangelism and the blood that brings life to our lives as we walk in God’s ways.
Worship Choir
Our 10:30 service is led by our Worship Choir. This group loves to lead the church using traditional hymns and choral anthems. This is an open, non-audition choir. The Worship Choir meets for rehearsal each Wednesday evening from 7-8pm. In addition to leading worship each week, the Worship Choir also performs seasonal choir specials. We welcome all ages of singers regardless of choir experience. All you need is a heart for worship! We are currently planning a weekend choir tour for the Fall of 2008.

Vocal Ensembles And Soloists
Here at First Baptist we believe every Christian has a place of service. Several established vocal ensembles perform in our worship services along with accomplished soloists. We value every person's musical ability and desire to see you use your ability to serve God here at First Baptist as a member of an ensemble or soloist.
